Congratulations Florencia Morales, Winner of the A1A Fort Lauderdale Marathon

We’d like to give a big congratulations to our own Running Wild athlete Florencia Morales for being the top female finisher at the A1A Fort Lauderdale Marathon.

Excerpt from Sun Sentinel article:

As for Morales, 37, who works as a lifeguard in Fort Lauderdale where she trains by running on the beach, she finally decided to run in this year’s marathon because she didn’t finish the recent marathon in Houston.

“I tried to run Houston last month, but I ‘hit the wall’ and dropped out after 19 miles,” said Morales, a native of Buenos Aires, Argentina. “Today, I controlled myself, but it was hot and windy.”

Morales, who won the Fort Lauderdale half marathon in 2014, was always near the lead throughout the race, but admitted that it was not an easy run because she was never close enough to other runners to draft anybody.
